A couple weeks ago I took a tour of the Family Wellness in Fargo. What is it? It is a new family fitness facility, I think that would be the best way to describe it. I took a thorough look at the location and their facility during the tour and I was pretty impressed with the wide variety of things that you can do there. This is going to be a valuable gym membership for a lot of people. Some of the things that jumped out to me, just in my personal areas of interest, are the following.

Basketball is always a big activity that I like. And they have very nice basketball courts. They have two full-size courts actually. Whenever I have played basketball there, even if I’m just shooting around by myself I am able to have a hoop to myself for the most part. Most days when I go to shoot hoops there the courts are even open enough so that I can just run back and forth on the courts and do layups.

Swimming is another activity that I like to do, however most of my experience in swimming is through swimming in lakes. Swimming laps in the pool is a little bit different for me, but I have gotten used to it pretty quickly and I actually enjoy the activity of lap swimming more than pretty much anything else that I do at the gym.

Running on the track is another activity that I do from time to time. However, I am not a huge running fan, and I am better off if I can find some way to get cardiovascular activity without the actual act of running only. I prefer if I can mix in running with some other activities, such as basketball. This is primarily why I like to play basketball, it allows me to run without actually having to focus on just running.
